NIKKI SIXX On BRIDES OF DESTRUCTION Tour: 'It's Like The First Day Of School'
May 7, 2004BRIDES OF DESTRUCTION bassist Nikki Sixx (ex-MÖTLEY CRÜE) has spoken to The Plain Dealer about the start of the group's first tour, which arrives in Hartford, Connecticut Friday (May 7).
"It's the first time for us to all be in a hotel and hanging out together," Sixx said. "The gear is showing up. Turn on the radio. We're on the radio here. It's just like, 'Wow, it's happening!'
"[It's like] the first day of school. And we are going to sit in the back of the class and throw things. We're those guys."
According to Sixx, the diverse musical backgrounds of the bandmembers make it hard to pigeonhole the BRIDES or their debut album, "Here Come the Brides".
"I've seen us reviewed as anything from a punk band, a garage band, a heavy-metal band, a new rock band," said Sixx. "[We've even been described as] a supergroup. I'm like, 'Where the [expletive] did you get that?' We're just a [expletive] band. Either you like [expletive] loud guitars and snotty lyrics or you don't." [Read more]
